HaoSay Privacy Policy

HaoSay ("HaoSay," "we," "us," or "our") helps learners practice Chinese through city scenarios, AI roleplay, speech practice, photo vocabulary, saved word cards, and subscriptions. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect or process, how we use it, and the choices available to you.

Information We Collect or Process

We may collect or process the following information when you use HaoSay:

• Account identifiers, login status, and subscription entitlement information.
• Speech, text, prompts, and practice answers you provide during language learning activities.
• Voice recordings, audio input, or transcripts used for speech recognition, speaking practice, pronunciation support, or AI replies.
• Photos you choose to capture or submit for vocabulary extraction.
• Avatar images or profile content you choose to provide.
• Learning content and progress, including saved word cards, completed scenes, selected characters, practice history, and word pocket data.
• Basic device, app, log, diagnostic, and usage information needed to operate, secure, debug, and improve the app.

How We Use Information

We use information to:

• Provide AI roleplay replies, speech practice, pronunciation support, translations, vocabulary suggestions, and learning feedback.
• Generate Chinese word cards and related practice content from photos you choose to submit.
• Save your learning progress, completed scenes, saved words, and practice history.
• Manage subscriptions, usage limits, entitlements, safety, and abuse prevention.
• Troubleshoot bugs, maintain app reliability, respond to support requests, and improve HaoSay.

Permissions

Camera access is used for photo vocabulary features. Microphone and speech recognition access are used for speaking practice, pronunciation support, and voice-based learning features. You can manage these permissions in iOS Settings.

Photo Vocabulary

Photo vocabulary starts only when you choose to capture or submit a photo. HaoSay uses the image to generate Chinese word cards and related practice content. We do not access your camera or photos unless you grant permission and start the feature.

Speech and AI Practice

Speech, text prompts, selected scenes, selected AI characters or personas, saved words, and learning context may be used to generate practice replies, sentence suggestions, vocabulary support, pronunciation feedback, and related learning content.

AI and Third-Party Processing

HaoSay may use third-party AI, speech, image, cloud, subscription, analytics, crash reporting, or infrastructure services to provide app features. These services may process prompts, speech, transcripts, images, learning context, diagnostic data, or subscription entitlement information as needed for the feature you use.

HaoSay sends only the information reasonably needed to provide, secure, and improve the feature the learner starts. Third-party service providers may process and retain information according to their own policies and our agreements with them.

Subscriptions

Purchases are processed by Apple. HaoSay may receive subscription product identifiers, transaction status, renewal status, and entitlement information to unlock paid features and manage access. HaoSay does not receive your full payment card details.

Tracking and Advertising

HaoSay does not sell personal information. HaoSay does not use your data for third-party advertising tracking or cross-context behavioral advertising.

Learning Content and Progress

HaoSay may save learning content such as word cards, completed scenes, selected city routes, practice status, and progress so learners can return to their lessons, routes, and word pocket.

Retention

We keep information only as long as needed to provide HaoSay, maintain learning progress, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, process subscriptions, and maintain safety and reliability. Temporary AI processing data may be retained by service providers according to their policies.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. However, no method of transmission, processing, or storage is completely secure.

International Processing

Information may be processed in countries or regions outside where you live, depending on the location of HaoSay's service providers and infrastructure.

Choices and Requests

You can manage camera, microphone, and speech recognition permissions in iOS Settings.

For privacy questions, account access, correction, deletion, or data-related requests, contact us at support@haosay.chat. If HaoSay supports account creation, you may request or initiate account deletion through the app or by contacting support. We may need to retain limited information where required for security, fraud prevention, subscription records, legal compliance, or dispute resolution.

Children

HaoSay is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information to HaoSay, contact us at support@haosay.chat so we can review and delete it where appropriate.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date or provide notice where appropriate.
